I will never forget one summer day in 2010. I started my day off doing push-ups and sit-ups. Then, I logged onto my YouTube channel and seen that Diamond (from the rap group named Crime Mob) had released a new music video titled “Lotta Money”. I remembered Diamond from being in a rap group called Crime Mob, but I never knew that she went solo until I seen the “Lotta Money” music video. Crime Mob is an Atlanta, Georgia based rap group that rose to fame in the early 2000’s after they had released hit songs titled “Knuck If You Buck, and “Rock Your Hips”.
The “Lotta Money” music video had a lot of guest celebrity cameo’s like Gucci Mane, and Yung Joc. The music video was well thought and showed Diamond going around the city of Atlanta dating three different rich/wealthy men who had a lot of money. Also, the song had an amazing sounding catchy chorus/hook that was very easy to remember. Both the song and the music video was fire! I’m surprised that Diamond did not fully capitalize on this hit song and start competing with Nicki Minaj for the #1 female rap spot in Hip Hop music. When I saw this “Lotta Money” music video, I thought Diamond was going to go on a 2-5 year hit making spree. Unfortunately, it didn’t go down like that but Diamond definitely blessed the streets with her own banger that I still remember fifteen years Later.
