Gray Classic was born in Irvington, New Jersey on August 18, 1987. Both of Gray's parents are of Haitian descent. In the year 2000, Gray moved to Boca Raton, Florida with his mother. Gray attended Boca Raton Community High School for three years and was expelled after getting arrested on felony robbery charges. Gray would later transfer to Boca Raton Christian High School, where he scored sixteen touchdowns on the varsity football team. Gray also averaged eighteen points per game on Boca Raton Christians High School's basketball team. After a stellar high school athletic career, Gray signed a full football scholarship, that was offered to him by the University of Rhode Island. After attending one semester at the University of Rhode Island, Gray dropped out to pursue his dreams of becoming a rap star. In 2008, Gray began working on his first mixtape and built his own record called Grind Camp Records.
